1950 Armstrong Mid Century Modern Kitchen
This is a cool, and kind of unusual, design for an Armstrong kitchen. In 1950, combos of red and green were seen everywhere, but this one takes the color in a fresher, more contemporary, direction. The lighted "department store" cabinet is pretty fabulous and I love the crisp curtains and built-ins. I'm just not sure how it would really work.
1951 Modern Colonial Kitchen
I started out coveting the really modern mid century furniture and style even though I prefer something ... ummm ... a little more comfortable. This kitchen has a lot going for it: the blue-trimmed casement windows over the sink, the inevitable geraniums, and the cabinets with the little ball knobs, and the steel-edged Formica counters. I particularly like the flatness of the cabinets ... I'm sick to death of trying to keep those routered cabinets clean. Yup ... this kitchen gets a big thumbs up. (And you have to love the Metlox Homestead Provincial dishes.)

The Bedroom Light
This is a slightly long exposure of the light/fan in my bedroom. I was curious how the bright lights would affect the surrounding fan blades. It turns out that the light dies off pretty quick. At first, I converted this one to b/w, but it looked too flat and dull. Just this little bit of off-white color brought it back to life.

The bedroom track lights come from Ikea too. Their named 'Cesium.' Possibly one of the nicest made things you can get from there right now. So nice it doesn't look like it came from Ikea. It's just out of reach of the ceiling fan.

The dining room served as my home office and was almost never used for dining. With the exception of the unframed piece in the lower middle, I made all the wall art myself. The table was a dumpster find.
Dining Room
Our dining room is quite cramped at the moment... but it's very cozy nonetheless. In the Spring the dark furniture gets painted white & James' guitar, keyboard and all the records get transferred to the media room in the works.
